The Great Day Of Confession

I Hate Math! But surprisingly I find when I HAVE to do it, I'm pretty good at it.

I'm getting ready to register for college, but I haven't done it yet, because I am a HUGE scaredy cat when it comes to doing something I've never done before.

I quit photography, alright I haven't quit, quit but I am so discouraged at my total lack of progress, so I am just going to take pictures of my kids and not try a mini session every time I get the camera out

I Hate taking snapshots, because of the "technical" flaws I find every time

I want to take more snapshots of my kids because they are only kids for a little while and I want the memories.

I have serious covet issues right now in regards to the D300, 70-200 VR 85mm 24-70mm 14-24mm (all Nikon glass of course:)

when it comes to camera equipment I am kind of a junkie, the list above is but a very very short version of my master list:)

I have been "talking" about cleaning up my inbox for two weeks, but I haven't

There are moments when I want to just delete everything because that would be Wayyy easier then going thru it

I just made some seriously chocolate chocolate chocolate cookies with the kids and had so much fun we ended up making chocolate milkshakes to eat them with and I don't believe I mentioned the fact that both the milkshake and the cookies were very very very chocolaty

I am super duper excited for Christmas, but I wish I had the whole week instead of a million appointments the day after, that's so not right!

I really do like most everyone, but there are a couple people I just cannot stand

My celebrity Idols are all photographers:)

I spend way to much time on the computer because my kids don't want me to play with them, they are perfectly happy just ordering snacks or coming over for a quick snuggle (Everett) before running off to play again

I read out loud to the kids and I enjoy it, I can't wait to read the Chronicles of Narnia with them

I hate reading out loud

I keep promising to post pictures to my picture blog and I never do

I need a shower, but my pipes are frozen.

I hate missing my daily shower.

I love my baby Caleb who I just found out is 14 pounds and he only 2 1/2 months!, the Dr. says he has the muscliest legs on a baby his age he has ever seen!

I love my baby Ella, when she got her shots today, she screamed so loud people in the NEXT building could hear her! Poor Baby.

I love my Everett who is so sensitive and sweet forever wanting to help out.

I love my Felicity who has a hippity hop and I think my have forgotten to walk as she hops everywere:)

I love my Alice who loves school and is growing up way faster then should be allowed.

I love my Katie who has become a little mommy always helping out with the babies and who always brings home books from the library on horses, never anything else

I love Maine even when its only 21 degrees outside:_

I love Joff who takes the babies to get there shots because I can't and who has just built me a coat closet and now I have to look at it, Yea!

My kids

A couple of Pictures

Happy Thanksgiving!

See I have been trying to get on here since Thanksgiving and I just wanted to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving before New Years.
I have been way to busy, I just noticed my little "your baby will be born" prediction thingy is still posted at the bottom of my blog, I'll have to take that down, lol they got it wrong anyway!
Thanksgiving was nice and yummy.
Nana turns 70 tomorrow, Happy Birthday Nana!
Shudder and sigh, I am writing in my blog to avoid my email, I have several hundred messages, I have been so busy I haven't had time to check and its really been piling up, wish me luck maybe I will get one of those messages from the guy in Africa who wants to pay me to help him transfer his billions out of Africa and away from a murdous political party!
The mouse is gone and I kind of miss him, more so because he was replaced by a giant rat. Stripes and Woofy are out to get him, hopefully it won't take long, that thing is gross and everytime I go to do laundry I am terrified he will bite my toes! He is hiding in the laundry room.

How about something cute and fluffy? I gave the kids each one of those Little Debbie christmas Tree snacks and when I came back from throwing the box out, Ellie was sitting next to Caleb and trying to share her treat with him, luckily she missed his mouth and it ended up she was smooshing it up his nose instead, lol! He's fine just you know, he didn't even cry at all.
Joff has a wierd sense of humor (as most people know) and the girls at night won't go to the restroom without me or Joff or one another, so Joff walked back with Alice today and was waiting outside I don't know maybe she forgot he was there or something because he jumped out from behind the door when she was coming out and said "BOO!" and she yelled and then seeing it was just daddy said "hehe daddy, you are one scary guy!"
OK off to tackle that email
Merry Christmas!

There is a mouse....

There is a mouse in my walls, I have tried to kill him many, many times. As I sit here typing he sits in the wall beside me crunching away on insulation, he is still alive and he wants me to know it, when I go to bed he will scamper to the wall above my bed and chew on anything just because he knows it will keep me up.....evil mouse. The war is not over my friends! The mouse is going down!

Felicity is four, as of Friday. She got a tea set and we (Felicity, her hippo's and I) are having a tea party tomorrow, she is very excited.
Felicity so far is loving being four, she got a bunch of presents, she picked out her own cake and she even picked out her decorations and tableware, not something I usually do as children naturally gravitate to the most expensive stuff in the store, but she was with me and throwing stuff in the cart, and I mean what I can a person do? I was only planning on spending five bucks on that stuff, lol we ended up spending fifteen, but your only four once, right!

Hey James is on the phone be back later!

Happy Anniversary D50!

Its November, I believe I mentioned that, I mention it again because November means its also my D50 anniversary:) Three years ago this month I got my Nikon D50, and considering the beating it takes everyday I would have to say its a great camera. So happy 3rd anniversary D50, So far its been more then great:)

"Its not you it me" . Well since we are talking cameras..... Its not my camera but me,true I would admit my photography skills have improved but uh not that much, or maybe not enough, I don't no, but I am growing increasingly frustrated about my photos, I want to take "WOW"photo's not "oh that's nice" I know what my problem is, its focus, I want that clarity I see so often but never get, I did learn that my ss needs to be faster, so I am going to be working on that over the next little while.

Felicity's birthday is Friday, she will be four and she is so excited, lol, she has already started talking about her next birthday already!
Felicity goes to"grandma school" on Wens. and Fri., those are her two favorite days of the week. She loves to learn and is always so excited to share what she is learning. In primary a couple of Sunday's ago the teacher reminded everyone to put there name on top of there pictures and Felicity piped up "I know how to spell my name! Its like this! and she made an F in the air, it was so cute and she was very proud of herself.
Alice gets up before the sun (6 AM to be precise) to get ready for school. Alice like Felicity loves school, she is very social (Surprise!) she is the popular girl in her class.
At her Student led parent-teacher conference (what a mouthful that was) her teacher said she is doing fantastic, she is ahead in every area. Of course I always new she was a genius:)
Katie could probably do just fine if she never had to go to school again, at least she probably thought so till yesterday. She stayed home from school because she sprained her ankle:0 on Sunday and I think she wanted an excuse to skip anyway, well I have two babies living in this house, plus a two year old boy and I think there is only so much whining a person can take, even a six year old little girl, lol. So this morning when I asked her if she was ready to go back to school she said "oh you bet!" HAHAHAHA HEEEHEE.
Katie is not as social outside of her family and that's okay with me, she has always been more cautious and careful then the others and I am glad of that, now for some reason ( I might not be seeing, because I am not around while Katie is at school) Katie is also popular in her class, when we show up at school all the kids are like "its Katie! Katie's here!" I have walked up the hall late with Katie many times and you can hear the kids in her classroom "wheres Katie, why isn't Katie here?". SO! Katie must be at least a little more sociable when I am not around, I am going to have to go spying sometime, lol.
At Katies Student led parent-teacher conference (whew!) Her Teacher said Katie is doing great, she is ahead of where she is supposed (?) to be at this point in the year, she is a math whiz and a fantastic writer.
And of course I knew she was a genius:)
Evs is getting tall.
He loves to help his daddy and me (when he is in the mood) right now he is sharing a dry ramen noodle with Elli, he is very sweet. He is very sensitive and he has his own way of doing things, beware if you mess him up or do things out of order! WOE unto you if you give him the blue bowl when he wanted the pink!Cover your ears if you thought he said Scooby-Doo but what he actually said was He-man. LOL we try and get it right, but sometimes we miss, oh well. He is incredibly sweet and helpful and that totally makes up for all the communication problems we have been having.
Elli, now about that Elli.......Picture the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland. Do you see it? now hear this.....
All ways here you see, are the QUEEN'S WAYS!
And that's my Elli
Elli Loves her baby brother, I am sure of that, at least as much as a self centered baby can, She gives him kisses as she pushes him off of my lap.
How about one more quote for my Elli?
I warn you dear child, if I lose my temper, you lose your head. Understand?
I love, love my sweet little Elli.
I really need to post a pic of Felicity when she was a baby because she and Elli are like twins! Its incredible I will work on putting a comparison up here.
Oh well I have to go get Felicity from school.

Long time no Blog

OK Time has really been booking it this year, the months have flown, its November already and I haven't kept up with this blog like I was intending too, but hey life is busy, worse, much worse, my life is boring.
But today I have a few things to mention, a couple of pics to show off, so here goes.
Halloween is over, the kids got candy and now there is enough leftover candy stuck to my carpet the poor little mice living in my walls will never have to worry about going hungry again.
Funny story: Alice was sitting at the table going thru her candy, she found a white candy corn (ohhh magical!) Joff told her to eat that one because the white ones are lucky, she told him
"Oh daddy you better eat it, cuz you never had any luck"
LOLLOLOLOLOL

I'll have to come back later, Caleb will not stop crying till I feed him:)

One of Caleb and One of Katie

Finally a Post, its been forever

This morning as I was hopping up and down and gasping for air as I squeezed into my size 12 pants, I realized I needed to become one of those annoying woman who always talk about there weight, either that or get the fat sucked off my thighs for a uh boob job;)
So I did some internet searching and here's what I'm gonna do, its called the Aggressive couch to 5K program, I am doing it along with some other people online (for support, really how long would I last by myself?) then I'll look around for a 5K at the end of the program (the program is four months) and run it. LOL anyone want to take bets on how long I'll last even with the support?
I am also going to be taking my pre-GED tomorrow (hyperventilating) I am pretty sure I'll pass everything but the math, but thats ok I talked to the Adult Education lady at the school and she said they have a math class once a week that I can come to (free!).
So look at me, getting all busy and trying to improve myself!
I picked up my camera yesterday, took some pics. I need to get back into that too start working on some stuff but that for now is a lesser goal, I am just going to continue taking pics for the fun of it.
Lets see anything else...........? Hmmmmm. Oh yea, Elli will be one on sunday! She is saying stuff like Daddy, up and Uh Oh, she is a confirmed walker and if she doesn't start laying off the bottle she will be our chunkiest chunk yet:)
Kids have already started there wish lists for Christmas..... Sigh.

Oh yes Michael (my little brother) had his first baby a week ago, a baby boy named Stephen Michael, 6 pounds 12 ounces and 18 inches. I hear he is a cutey, although he is not doing well health wise. I wish I had a picture to post.
OK I have things to do.

Caleb is home!

Caleb was born September 24 2007 at 1:30, he was born with premature lung issues and was transferred to the NICU the same day, he spent this last week there and was able to come home today. I am so happy to have him home, this last week has been one of the hardest of my life.
I think we have decided he looks like Everett, but I think there is a bit of Katie there too. He weighed in today at 6 lbs 7 oz. so he is still pretty small, but he is healthy and well and I am just so happy to have him home.

September update

Alice came home from school the other day and told me her favorite people at school where the cookers because they made her spinach for lunch! Come on how often do you here that?

I saw something sweet yesterday when I dropped off the girls for school. The girls were playing on the playground when the bell rang, they all ran to get in line, but Alice turned around and ran over to give Katie a big hug and kiss before getting back in line, awwww.

The girls also have something very cute they do, we are always telling them that they will have lots of friends but, because they are sisters, they will all ways have each other as the best-est of friends. So they have this thing they do were they Hi-Five each other saying "Best Sisters" and then hugging and saying "Always", its very very sweet and yesterday they tried showing Elenore how to do it, but she didn't have a clue although she did like the attention:)

Felicity had school with Sis. A and Ivan today, she made her face on a plate and had lots of fun, she is so excited to tell Katie and Alice about "her" school.

I got a load of laundry ready to put in the washing machine, turned it on and everything, but forgot to put the laundry in, I went off to do something else, a little while later, I hear Evs calling me from the laundry room, I go back and he has put in all the laundry in and closed the lid, so its all ready for me, he is such a good helper.

Eli can wave bye bye, loves to dance, and is single handily eating all of the tomatoes Joff and Evs brings in from the garden:) She also loves cucumbers, but doesn't really care for watermelon, she ate corn on the cob last night and loved it, I am not neglecting her health too much, I make sure that she has a good appreciation of chocolate also.

I had a dr.'s app. today, only a few more weeks to go. LoL it struck me as funny, I go in and the Dr's like your pee looks great! uh okay, that's good news, I think, and then they are telling me how my weight is right on, okay I am 40 lbs over weight and my Dr. is fine with that. I don't know I thought it was pretty darn funny.

School

School started yesterday fpr Katie and Alice, Alice took to it Alot better then I thought, she loves it and was very excited to get up and go again this morning, I don't know wether to be happy or sad about this. Katie likes it too but has resumed her silence from last year, when asked how it was she shrugs and says "I forgot" or "okay".

Today I was asking them how it was and Alice was very excited to say that her and Katie have a new friend named Jenna, and that they played a game were everyone guessed what animal they were, of course Alice was a pig:)

Felicity does seem to be taking it hard, she is a little bit fussier then usual, Evs doesn't care and Elenore doesn't notice:)

Felicity got into trouble this morning and Joff said "you are coming with me" She started crying "I don't want to go sell tomatoes!" lol he was just making her go to bed.

Elly

My Birthday

I better get around to my B-day, it was a really great day and my family deserves written credit.
It started out with me going off to do some shopping in the morning, while Joff and the kids decorated and wrapped my presents, I found some really great stuff, mostly went to yard sales:)
When I got back we had cake, I had picked out a Reeses Peanut Buttercup icecream cake, mmmmmm, very good.
Then Presents, Evs was a light I can use to read with, or I can snap it on my camera for night work, very useful, except he thought it was his, so I told him we can share it.
Felicity got me one of those Jelly bean pooping cows, she thought this was a totally awsome present and everybody had to try it out, lol.
Alice got me some very nice smelling candles for my cow candle holders.
Katie got me a cow statue figurine (what is the proper name of these things?) it is made out of wood anyway, it is very graceful and lovely cow.
Joff got me Yatzee and Skip-bo and Zoolereto and an Uncle Johns Bathroom Reader (which I also collect) and the complete chronicles of Narnia.
Lets see oh yes, the A's took us to Pizza Hut for dinner ( I love pizza, and really who doesn't) the H's got me the Harry Potter books, which should have been here today but weren't:(
It was a really nice birthday, one of the good ones.

A quick note

Everett has two toy alligators, he informed us this morning that there names were "Bulldozer and Backhoe". He has the heavey equipment bug bad.

Today is my Birthday.
Happy Birthday to me.

The Tooth Fairy

Alice lost her first tooth, she was very excited and this morning was even more excited to find four quarters under her pillow. (Apparently 50 cents is no longer good enough, the tooth fairy is having a good year and I am left to understand "what in the heck does 50 cents buy anymore anyway?")
Katie and Felicity were crying about how they didn't have any money and so Alice came into our room and we asked her what was going on she replied "they are like Cinderella and I'm not" we laughed and said "What?" she said "they have to work for there money".
A little later Felicity was still crying about the fact that she is broke and Alice explained it this way "Felicity when you turn four and then five you can lose a tooth and get some money too" of course this only made Felicity cry harder.
Elly can clap her hands (did I already mention this in an earlier post?)

Heaven and Alice's bday

Today Joff was walking Felicity home from grandmas house, they passed by our bonfire and Felicity said that next time she is going to camp in the road, Joff told her she couldn't do that shemight get run over and die, she said "thats okay daddy, I would go to heaven" Joff told her he didn't want her to go to heaven until he could go with because he would miss her too much, she said "then you can sleep in the road with me"
LOL:)
Definitly she needs help
Alice said she didn't want to go to Heaven because she is afraid of heights!
I sincerely hope they neither one of them worry too much about it.
Elly can free stand now, she even tried to take a step yesterday, but didn't quite make it.
To backtrack a bit, Alice's and Joff's B-day went off really really well, The Goblin Hunt for the treasure chest that Gruesome left Alice was very succesful. Here's a copy of the card Gruesome left Alice:

Hearts

Katie's cat Hearts was ran over yesterday, she was such a sweet cat, I had a bit of a break down over it, I really loved that little cat, Alice saw me crying about Hearts and came over and gave me a hug and told me hearts was okay and that her and Trippy (Alice's duck) were in heaven together.
Joff buried her next to Trippy and the girls helped pick out a rock for her headstone, then they put her name and the date on it.
The girls have a much better perspective on this then I do, Katie told me that she was sad and happy because although she doesn't get to play with Hearts anymore, Hearts is safe and Heavenly Father will take care of her.

Grandma Parvi has passed away.

Still July

Today has felt like two days, I woke up feeling crummy, didn't take a shower till noon, then felt much, much better.
Joff has got the washing machine all fixed up.
Everyone is headed west tomorrow for the reunion, we aren't going, we need to stay and sell Joff's tomatoes, also no dough, no go.
Alice and Joff's B-days are next week and I am very excited, except Joff's big present might not get here in time, but we will have a good time and just tell him its on the way, if it doesn't get here.
Can you tell I have no news? I am rambling on about nothing!

Today.

Babies are so gullible, today in an attempt to entertain Elly, who was fussing and crying, I put her pacifier in my mouth, backwards and grabbed a clean sock and put it on my head, she was shocked, actually stopped crying mid scream, she had no clue, poor baby. She has teeth coming in on the bottom, sharp little teeth, I have been wondering who has not been putting the knife sharpener away.......

She can crawl, sort of, but mostly she like to walk along side of things, if you lay her on her back she thinks the world has up and ended, unless you give her a bottle, then she is like well, OK, then its not so bad, are you sure I can't drink this standing up though?

Evs has gone mad over motorized vehicles, we are getting new ditches on our road, we are also getting free fill, so several times a day the dump truck drives in with another load and every time Everett nearly faints with joy, now they are parking there backhoe in our field and Evs can't sleep for the wonder of it, LOL. We were at a garage sale, next to some railroad tracks and train went by while we were there, it was all we could do to keep Evs from going utterly mad. He is hilarious, if he is inside and a plane goes over, he starts screaming, Plane, Plane! and runs outside, trying to drag us all along to see, its like he got this mad obsession overnight and now we are stuck with it.

Some of my favorite red dwarf quotes:

Lister: The red, green and blue alert signs are all flashing. What the smeg does that mean?
Kryten: Well either we're under attack sir, or we're having a disco.

"You can't frighten me, I'm a coward. I'm scared all the time." -- Rimmer, Horsemen of the Apocalypse

"What do we do, whisper 'charge', tippytoe up to them all screaming 'shhh' and chloroform them with Lister's armpits? -- Rimmer

"Purple alert!"
"What's a purple alert?"
"Well it's sort of worse than a blue alert but not quite as bad as a red alert. Could be a mauve alert..." -- Holly and Lister

So let me get this straight. You want to fly on a magic carpet to see the King of the Potato People and plead with him for your freedom, and you're telling me you're completely sane?

"Look at what he's given me for dinner: a pea on toast. One pea. I tell you, I'm that far from cracking. [goes to squish the pea; it snaps away] I've lost my pea! Oh, that's it! I've cracked."

-Rimmer

Sunday, July 8, 2007

Well, I have some catching up to do.
Our 4th of July went off well, we went to our 4th breakfast at the church, which Joff was in charge of, it was, I think, successful. Next we went to Winslow for there parade which last year was really quite good, but this year fell short, due in part I think to there being a couple of really long stops in the parade because of some sort of problem, we spent the rest of the day in the Park.
The kids spent most of the day riding on this slide here:

Waiting in line:

They rode the ponies:

They had a good time, no pics of the fire works because Elenore was afraid of them but Everett LOVED the fireworks, He kept saying BOOM, BOOM. I wonder if I should be worried about a future pyrotechnic.

Here's Elenore:

All of the kids:

I think the kids all had a lot of fun and had a great day, although on our way out of the park Katie tore her leg on a post and had to go to the ER and have stitches, it didn't hurt to much though and she barely notices it.
Thursday, Katie and Alice went to Sharyn M.'s house for Tuckers bday party, it was military themed and I hear they had a blast, We got a trampoline from Sharyn M. also ( She has since moved to Texas) which all the kids really, really love ( they are out playing on it now:)
Friday, we had eggs for breakfast, Alice got out the ketchup and when she saw Joff watching her, she said "I know its sooo embarrassing I have to have ketchup, but I have to have it." LOL
Saturday, Alice's B-day package arrived from Sharyn and Gary H. The all got stickers which they love as I don't buy them, and now Disney princess's adorn my front door and Winnie the Pooh greets me ever time I use the restroom (nuff said), the girls also got bracelets, I put Elly's on a linkie doo she she can shake them all about, Evs got a hat, which is good for his bald head, they also got two dollars apiece, which of course HAD to be spent the minute the got it, lol, they ended up buying coloring books and crayons, Evs got cars.
Sunday the 8th (today) We went on a walk down the road and found a ton of flowers, the girls had a lot of fun collecting them and now we have vases full of flowers, Everett collected rocks, LOL again.
Elenore has two teeth coming in on the bottom, she is quite proud of them. I was just on the phone with Sharyn H. who found a body! Luckily the body was still breathing and they got 911 to come and help.
I think its been a good week:)

I Object

The Beach

Yesterday we went to the beach, Katie, Alice and Felicity. Joff, Elly and Evs stayed home so Joff could do school work.
We rode along with the Atwaters, and stopped to see the chocolate moose, Felicity really liked the chocolate moose. At the beach Felicity stuck her toes in and then went up and played on the sand, Alice got wet and had a great time finding seashells, Katie actually got in the water. They all three seemed to have a lot of fun, they loved to go right up to the water and when a wave came in they would run away.

June 14 2007

My Katie, last day of school.
Today was the last day of school for Katie, almost as heartbreaking as the first day, The clothes she wore the first day would fit Felicity, she has grown so much, she has learned addition and can read uncomplicated sentences, she is good enough at spelling that she now surfs the web with little help from me or Joff. OK going off to cry now, its not really fair that they grow so quickly.

Cookie Dough

Joff is playing the Battle Beast game with the kids, it is there fravorite game and I am not a fan, so to get out of it I have started making making cookies while they play, tonight its chocolate chip, I like to make the cookies while the kids are busy that way I get half of the dough all to myself:)
Sat. (June 2nd) was our 7th Anniversary, we saw Pirates 3, Joff didn't like it, I did.
Its hard to type with cookie dough on my fingers and the keys are getting all sticky, oh well more later..........typing that is.

Car Hijackers

Today is Sunday. We went to church, Went to A's house, pretty much just talked and visited all day.
I do have to share one little incident which is too good to not write down;
Two of my nephews (brothers, ages 4 and 2) climbed into there moms car and locked themselves in, Cindy and Chelle tried to coax them out, telling them to unlock the door, which they would not, Chelle tried teasing, saying You are to little to unlock the door, Ivan replied No I am not too little, I am mean! then he turned to his brother and said Honk! Honk Milton, Honk! So Milton proceeded to Honk like crazy, giggling and laughing, luckily there dad showed up with a spare key. Those guys were in it for the long haul, but there dad had to come and spoil the fun, what a shame. (insert wicked grin here:)

Bonfires

My Lilac Blossom
We had a bonfire last night, Able and Lucilly came over with hotdogs and marshmellows, it was fun. Alice really got into it, she did several Goblin Dances around the fire. Katie told a story, one, I guess, Joff and his family grew up with but I had never heard, I shall get Katie to tell it to me again, so I can type it out here, it was pretty silly.

It is such a nice day today, 79 its true, but nice and windy. I was hoping that we wouldn't have to much of a bug problem this year, and so far it isn't to bad, but yesterdays heat brought out some very hungry mosquitos, They took all the blood I was planning on donating next time I go to my Dr.'s, but I feel good that I am helping to keep a species alive.

I finally figured out how to download Podcasts, very simple I know, but hey I have a lot of really really dumb moments when I am pregnant, I am completely dangerous when pregnant, once I forgot which side of the road to drive on, see what I mean? Anyway, we have a Rush Limbaugh subscription, Joff needed to have the podcasts for his Ipod so he could listen while working outside and I finally figured it out, so I am feeling clever today. By the way it really is easy, I wasn't reading the instructions, in my defense, for a while there I couldn't Find the instructions:)

If my computer will cooperate I will show some pics of my Lilac Bush, They all got me last year, It has one blossom and it smells very good, it is growing pretty rapidly, one of my Peony Bushes is coming up, also I will post some pics of a mysterous blossoming tree we have growning in the woods, I keep meaning to ask Dan when he comes what it is, but I never remember.

Oh ya, before I forget, last night, Alice said:
Will someone just get me a freakin marshmellow already!

May 25 2007

Its 90 today, not to bad as there is a bit of a breeze. The heat has put Elly off her naps, she like to have her blanket when she sleeps, so she has been a bit harder to put down lately.
Alice was sitting at the breakfast table this morning (it was 8:30 and almost 80 degrees out) when Joff opened the sliding glass door behind her, She said:

Oh I was just waiting for that, I really need a fresh breeze right now

The Dandilions are out in force and Evs is always bringing me a handfull, he is so very sweet, although that reminds me of something he said yesterday, he had my baseball bat and he came up with a very wicked grin and said:
I'm going to hit Alice
I told him he wasn't and that would be mean, he shrugged, handed me the bat and said OK. At least he asked permission right?

I am off, I have to go back to work, I am trying to clean up the back room, and that is just so exciting that I can't wait to get back to it.

This blog has been sadly neglected, but in my very well constructed defense I will say that my computer time has been slashed into almost nothing, the girls spend long hours on the Hasbro site, playing My Little Pony games or coloring, Joff has been trying to wrap up all his school work and by the time someone (anyone!) has handed over the computer, I am half asleep or so behind in other projects (photography) that the sad end result is this blog is neglected.

Alice has once again proven her uniqueness, yesterday, on my way to the store I asked the girls what there favorite foods where, I got the usual response from Katie and Felicity "chicken nuggets, mac&cheese, ice cream" but Alice said "Spinach!" and she was serious , Alice Loves Spinach.

Sis. A was polishing girls nails today, a lovely shade of pink, Evs got in line, I said Oh no, Evs little boys don't wear nail polish he literally came running over crying to me and landed in my lap, I broke his heart, so I weakened and Sis. A put green nail polish on him.

To jump around a bit......
When I was a teenager and the Whole World was against me and nothing, Nothing was Fair, I wrote poetry, I think writing under those circumstances provides some of the worlds worst poetry. I don't write that kind of Poetry anymore, mostly because I mean who has time, I am way to busy making my kids lives miserable and completely unfair. But in moments of boredom, usually late at night, nothing is good on TV, there is nothing to read, no one to talk to and my kids are still to young to pull pranks on ( I can't wait for them to be Teenagers, oh the things I have planned, Shhhh) I write, stupid nonsensical things. Which leads me to the whole entire point of all this, a poem, by me....

Wrap me in Sunshine
Careless grey
I promise forever
With no plans to stay
To wake in the morning
To face the wonder
A scowling landscape
bring me up, lift me from under
writing with a frown
Secret smile
all the time a crying
its been such a long, long while
Can you make sense
do I need to see
someone to help my addled....
stuck laughing,
laughing, me.
See? Do you see what I mean?No good can come from staying up late at night.
That's the first and last version, trying to fix that would be like taking a broken vase and throwing it on the ground.
I have to go grab the cat.

Something

Today Felicity was trying to open a cheese snack but couldn't do it so Joff started it and she grabbed it and said I can do it now, I can do it, so she tried to finish opening opening it but ended handing it back to Joff saying, See Daddy I told you not to let me do it.

Katie was shopping with me Elly, I was trying to keep Elly happy (she was starting to fuss) So I kept saying Say Hi baby, say HI, finally I turned to katie and asked why won't she say Hi? Katie replied Mommy she is JUST a baby, of course she won't say hi.

On that same trip Katie asked me why all the animels came alive in "Night at the Museum" I said Really Katie I don't know, she said Mommy this is very sad, you where supposed to know Everything. Oops!

The Nothing

Spring has finally arrived, this translates to meaning, that it was -30 degrees one day, a balmy 80 degrees the next.
So the reason I haven't posted isthat Nothing has been happening, The weather improved and uh thats about it.

April 26 2007

On again, off again that's what the weather is!
Katie will be reading at the Authors Tea at school on the 2nd (of May, that is) I am very excited for her, more so because the teacher must think Katie has progressed enough to participate (progressed out of her Shy Shell, that is)
So YEA! for Katie.

Everett loves to work, Everyday he gets up ready to put on his boots and run out and work with his dad, its very cute, he has a little sunburned face:) He will come running in ever so often to have me fill his cup with water and then run back out to work again, the plus side he has started to take naps again and will still be ready for bed at 8:00 ( I bumped back his bedtime a half hour) so he works pretty hard, they have been digging ditches and cutting down brush hauling logs, Everett's specialty is hauling logs and brush, he's very good at that.

Elly has been showing her Hippo side (hey Elly and Felicity look alike, why not the same temperament!).

The Warm Weather Has Arrived

It was Hot today, 82 degrees!
The kids have been loving it, tonight Joff played freeze tag with them outside, they played that alot last year, so they were really excited to start it up again, also leap frog and Katie has been showing them how to jump rope.

A book we borrowed from the library that I would very much recommend is
" The Curious Demise of a Contrary Cat" by Lynne Berry. All of the kids really enjoyed it and Ithought the illustrations were well done. (Well Done? Sounds like I am talking about a turkey just out of the oven! I liked the pictures anyway.)

I have cookies to take out of the oven, so thats it for tonight.

P.S

Alice refuses to eat anymore, she says
"Eating is too messy"

The Daily Report

Hello.
Goodbye.

We have received more snow and have been promised more, I am contemplating putting the Christmas tree back up.
I was in Wal*Mart today, they have out shorts and swimsuits, outdoor summer toys, now you have to remember two things

1. Its the middle of April, so those things might not sound so unusual.
2.When I walked in the store, It was snowing and there was already two feet on the ground, with (as I mentioned before) a promise of more snow and no end in sight.
3. Don't forget about Global Warming and all those poor Polar Bears, if it gets to cold in there native lands, we have the cold and I am sure we can squeeze in a few some where around here.

I know I said two but I could help but slip in a third.

I am still playing around with a logo for my photography, I haven't come up with anything I really like.

And for a child report:
Evs likes to have sword fights, his new trick is to "die" in slow motion and on the carpet, so he will run to the carpet and proceed to groan and turn every which way whilst falling to the floor, then when he is done twitching, he rolls his head to the side and sticks his tongue out.
I swear I have no clue where he learned that!
He expects to be tickled after. If he new how he would also probably ask for a Scooby Snack.

Katie wrote out the Alphabet on my counter in red permanent marker. She did a very good job.

Felicity likes to sneak out of bed in the middle of the night so she can play with her sisters Ponies and Petshops and I suspect a couple of dinosaurs.

Alice can pour chocolate milk for the cats and the dog without spilling a drop.

Els likes to sing to her toes.

Aren't they all talented:)

I ate a "snow apple"

Yes I did, I am feeling a bit down that Winter is still here, it missed the memo, it slept in, it cheated and it is so darn wrong! So I went out, plopped down in the middle of the snow, made a "snow apple" and ate it. This is what I have figured out about sitting in the snow eating "snow apples" pretending its Not still winter:

1.My butt froze solid, it very wierd when you can't feel your own butt, you know its there, but still...............
2."snow apples" taste wayyy to much like snow
3.Pretending its winter when its summer, is alot more fun then pretending its summer in the winter
4.After my sixth "snow apple" I had to pee very badly, but couldn't move because my butt was frozen to the snow
5.Yes your butt can freeze to the snow
6.I would give for some global warming

***************************************

My car broke down, well it won't start, for anything, not even Scooby Snacks
I just ate a candy bar. Hershey with almonds.

Snow***

I shoveled snow today. Wow? Take a check at your calender if you will, its April and I don't live in Alaska. We got 14 inches, biggest snow storm of the Winter, except its not Winter anymore, and would you look at that! Its snowing again! Grrrrrr.
I would give for some Global Warming right now.

This and That

We went to Bangor yesterday, It was fun. I love to shop! We got the girls new Easter dresses and Evs an Easter outfit, he won't wear button ups and vests and its not worth the fight so we bought him just a shirt and pant set with dinosaurs, he picked it out himself and loves it, besides it was on sale and cheap! I bought the clothes at the Burlington Coat Factory, my absolute favorite place to buy clothes.
It snowed, I believe I mentioned that, I posted pics of the recent snowfall on my Favorite blog.

My brother Michael is divorced, his (now ex) kind of went crazy (my opinion). My brother James is moving with his sister Melissa and her kids to Mo. I hope he will be happy wherever he goes.

We rented Charlottes Web and I have to say it was a HUGE disappointment, don't bother watching it, the voice of Charlotte was done by Julia Roberts and its horrible, her voice drives me crazy throughout the movie.
We also watched Eregon, it was okay, predictable and seemed like a amateur job over all, I wouldn't recommend it and won't watch it again, I haven't read the books, I intend to though and then we shall see how well the movie was followed.

Time for breakfast!

Monday, April 2, 2007

Finally, its been a while I know

I am still alive. Yea.
Would you believe that it is snowing?raining a little too, but also definitely snow.
Els has discovered her feet, she now holds on to them every chance she gets ( maybe she's afraid of losing them again? )
I finished Aveyond, beat the bad guy and all that, it is a fun game. (repeat)
A website you should check out if you like fonts: www.fonts101.com . I think I will add some of my favorite links to the permanent info on the front of mamacow, look for that, also a playlist of my favorite music, be wary of that though because I really do like a bit of everything.
April already, I didn't play a single Aprils fools joke yesterday :( ah well there is always next year, if I remember :)
Joff has plans for a huge garden this year, there are little cups all over the house in every window and every available shelf, little green shoots are coming up and Joff has transplanted to bigger cups for some of the taller plants.
Stripes says meow.

Today, if you are not confused, you are just not thinking clearly- U. Peter

Aveyond, the rest is rambling nonsense

I have discovered this very interesting game, I normally spend my time on the computer editing photo's, typing up emails, or and mostly surfing, I love to read and there is alot to read online, but lately I am guilty of mostly just playing Aveyond (it can be found here :
www.amaranthia.com ) it lots of fun.
So we saw another moose or actually I think it might be the same one, don't know, this time I have pictures and will be posting them on my Favorite blog, uh, probably tomorrow.
Spring has yet to arrive although mud season is in full swing, it has warmed up to a balmy (ha, ha) 40-50 degree's "most" days, I tell you what I am not putting away the thermal underwear yet, waaaaay to early.
I am (was ) YW counselor at church and was released today, kind of sad, it was lots of fun.
Easter is only two weeks away! Oh excitement! Last year the party was at our house and in the end we had to take up the carpet the candy would not come out for anything! I have giving my yard a stern talking to, ( I am slightly off my rocker, I acknowledge this ) I demanded that any and all traces of snow and mud be gone , that grass at least be attempting to make an appearance and that the smelly waterfowl be banned to an appropriate pen of adequate size, by Easter, do I expect these demands to be met? Not in the least, but I can wish:)
All of a sudden is eerily quiet in here, I can here the wall clock ticking, the lights are flickering and oh no was that a draft from an opening door! Okay, okay, but it is quiet all of a sudden. No complaints about that. I am seriously running out of ramblings.
Oh wait favorite quote for today:

"I only feel bad I don't feel worse"

I will look up who said it later.

My headache, skip this post.

I am miserable, yuck, I have had a headache for oh about five days now and the bloody thing won't go away, I even tried drinking water, lots of it, at appropriate intervals, I hate water, hate it, nasty stuff, of course I am have been nauseous too, and that makes drinking water worse, I gave up on Tylenol two days ago, I am going to see the doctor.

I love quotes, There are people out there that can just say the right thing, I am a Mark Twain fan, one of my favorite quotes of his:

"When we remember that we are all mad, the mysteries disappear and life stands explained."

Very true.

"Either I have been missing something or nothing has been going on" Karen Gordon

With the fog of a headache that I have, I would guess I have been missing a lot.
I am going to choke down another glass of water and search desperately for some really strong medication

Good health to you ( no curse implied )

Oh my gosh, very funny! Love it!

Today. Hows that for an original title?:)

I am desperate to feel like I have accomplished something today and I can't think, I am having a its-rainy-cold-muddy-gross-headache-day. Tonight we are having cold pasta salad, you know, diced chicken, cheese, pasta, tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers and a sprinkle of Italian dressing, cooked in the morning, it marinates all day in the fridge and its good for you too.
Today is the official day Maine became a State, Today is also my sisters birthday, sadly she lost her baby girl at 6 months pregnant yesterday.

St.Patricks is close upon us, I have been out trampling in the mud and half melted snow to find a clover (any clover, two leaves is fine with me) but if there everywhere any here the geese ate them, despicable geese, its the same with birds, I have been really wanting to test out my new long lens on something besides the geese and stop signs (don't ask) but Wolfy keeps a strict anti-bird real estate law in place, which is very annoying at times, I KNOW there is wildlife out there, but between the geese and the dogs (and maybe my new neighbors who are being very noisy building a new house grrrr) they (the wildlife) stay far away.

May the geese be far from you and may your dog utter no bark.

Felicity and Alice

Yesterday Felicity and Alice were playing with there "My Little Pony's" The new miniture ones, well they were fighting over a pony spoon, which appeared to be almost invisible is was so small, Felicity was claiming it was part of a set (and we all know you should NEVER break up a set!) and Alice claimed she needed it for her pony to eat her icecream with and here is the interesting part:
Felicity said "Alice give me that spoon or I will snot on you" Alice drew back in shock as Felicity proceeded to sniff in a big one Alice said "You wouldn't! Thats gross!" Felicity letting a little drip out her nose said for effect said "Yep I would" Alice quickly handed over the spoon, turned to me and said "Mommy, Felicity needs a wipe!" and then turning away to get all of her stuff together she muttered under her breathe "shees thats disgusting"

Maine & Moose

I have lived in Maine for about five years now, not counting a summer of blueberry raking ( if you don't know what blueberry raking is, then you don't want to know, its one of those things that is best left a mystery, If you DO know about blueberry raking or perhaps even done it, then you are at this very minute rubbing your shoulder, just the thought makes you in bad need of a chiropractor!)

I am told there are moose here, great big rambling beasts of the forest, as my mother-in-law puts it "funny Dr. Seuss creations". I have written on this before. Apparently I was deemed worthy (five years must be the mandatory time in) because today I saw one, It was staked out in a driveway wondering if the Realtor would ever show up, there was a line of people on the Opposite side of the road, taking snapshots and darn it all I would have joined them if I had taken my camera, but I didn't. The moose ( a cow ) looked very bored and in my opinion not so pleased at the paparazzi. We were only stopped for a second because there was a line up of cars behind us and they were either flipping us off, the line of people on the shoulder of the road or the moose, or most likely all three.
I want to dash back and join the paparazzi but I am pretty sure she's gone, the house didn't look like such a great deal to me.

Saturday

Yesterday Katie came up to me and said "mommy can I be hungry?" lol and I was very tempted to say no, but when its put that way........

We got a dryer, Yea!

Thursday, March 1, 2007

Yesterday and maybe the day before........

Yesterday was a good day, sort of, very busy anyway.

The day before wasn't so great.

Today is promising, I am on a quest for a new dryer, the laundry is piling up and about to take over, so we'll see.

Elly keeps hiding her pacifier, actually this what I think she does.........
I'm walking along, holding Elly who is sucking on her pacifier and scanning the room, finally when I am distracted she spits it out into some far corner or container, then starts crying very loudly, its all very planned and I'm on to her.

Kids Say

Yesterday we were watching a movie and a woman came on the screen who was supposed to be the beautiful heiress, anyhow Everett pointed at her and said "Ewww Yuck!"

Speaking of Everett he is such a good brother always bringing Elly her toys and her pacifer, her blanket and such, very sweet.

Yesterday while Katie was at school she kept her toys on the fridge so they would be safe, Felicity kept asking if she could play with them and I kept saying no, after all they were Katie's.
Anyway this morning Joff was up feeding the girls breakfast, and getting Katie off to school and of course Katie put her toys back on the fridge, well I was still in our room, when I heard Felicity say "daddy is mommy gone?" Joff replied no and she said "darn I was going to play with Katie's toys".
Well she tried.

No Title

Good news! I got five new lenses for my camera yesterday! All in great condition and at a good price too, very excited, have been practicing with them all morning.

Yesterday while driving to get said lenses I was listening to the news on the radio, the reporter made a comment that made me very very mad, He said and this is not the exact quote, I am looking for the quote and will post it later, anyway he said
"Today US soldiers killed 12 insurgents, but others are saying 16 were killed including woman and children"
So you see the point I am trying to make is that, that did not need to be added, it didn't, it riles people up because of course they are going to get upset, its upsetting, but THESE TERROISTS AND OTHER PEOPLE IN OTHER WARS PUT THE WOMAN AND CHILDREN IN FRONT OF THEM! In some cases the children fight! Oh it is know doubt wrong, but if we were to stop fighting children, if we were not going to bomb or take on every little hovel with a pack of woman and children in front and an army inside, we might as well give up, we the Americans can hold our hands up, fly the white flag and deliver the country on a silver platter!

Do you think they are sitting around saying well you know I think there will only be US Soldiers here, here and here, they are planning ways to kill as many of us as possible, we are Americans and for the most part and even worse we are not a Muslim Society. It is so much more then people realize.

So go ahead take the troops out of the Iraq, start withrawing them, do not fund them, Do what you will, but I can promise it will not end, it will never end until we put our foot down, stop pandering to the peacekeepers and do what we need to protect our country.
For all of you who want to "quit" Iraq, the next time you wake up to another attack on our country that could be much worse then the last, I hope you finally wake up and pray for a second chance.
God Bless America and God Bless our Soldiers
They need it.

Goodmorning!

GRRRR, I just wrote out a nice long post and the electricity went out!
I give up for the day, the electricity has been spotty a lot lately and its darn it all annoying, my pipes are frozen and the toilet doesn't flush, ewww gross I know.

The cat is in on it too, he has been stealing my blankets, the other day after making off with another one, he started yowling at the top of his lungs, Alice suggested he was now asking for pillows. Snob Cat.

That's all for now, you never know when the electricity will go.

Valentines Day

Valentines Day is over. Candy hearts, Paper hearts, Sticker hearts are littered through out the house, echoing off the walls are the numerous I Love You's the children offered up, out of favorite coloring books and treasured stickers are made valentines. Princess's and an Occasional Monster decorate cards with lots of glue and tape, I have written "Love" a lot and the cupids that are scattered over my walls are smiling.
Happy Valentines Day.

A Story

The stocks! You don't say dear Marissa! yes friend Jane but they let him keep his ipod, they downloaded they Bible for him to listen too while he is in, well I say it was a long time coming Marissa, after all he was constantly speeding up and down the road just terrifying the children and did you see what he had on his fence post last Sunday? A strangled goose! Its sad Jane that he was let in to the neighborhood, but one really must pity his wife and children,
yes Marissa, sad, sad Tam has been putting up with him long enough, I hope the stay in the stocks will let him know we won't put up with any more of his violence, Jane nodded her head and shook out her apron, the remaining corn flying into the air, the chickens scratching around the porch leaping up to catch the bits that fell to them, Marissa dug around in her purse and producing a set of keys and a pocket book, well Jane how much do I owe you for the shuttle ride, gas is just horrid nowadays, and now that my car is fixed I won't have to take the shuttle anymore just plug the dearie in and Ta-Da no gas required, I can't believe they haven't converted the shuttles over to Electric yet, with the extra daylight and all you would think they would get around to it, yes replied Jane but the congress has tied up the president for at least a month, they sent him off and won't let him back till its over, that's $1000 dearie I'm headed down to the mega mart myself after the sun sets, whats the point in sleeping when they only give you 4 hours in a night! Well well here you are and Marissa handed over the sum, I've got to run, I can hear the cow mooing from three blocks away and the hay must finish regenerating before I am done milking, chat at you later dear Jane, goodbye dear Marissa.

The War, Mostly

I was scrubbing my sink this morning......
Sinks are so very boring and worse they are disgusting, have you ever had to reach your hand down into the sink and "unplug" all the gung out? Its a great weight loss program, I usually can't eat for a week after.
I feel better.

I am actually going to rant here for a minute, so if you are the sensitive type who can't stand controversy, please just step away from the computer for a bit, its OK, go suck on a mint,
Now as for the rest of you,
WHATS UP WITH THE WORLD! A little more specifically put, I am so so mad at all the lame brained idiots in this country, people who watch the news and then go around quoting polls that are so inaccurate its not even funny, OK well a little funny at least to those of us who read the fine print underneath the poll

HEADLINE: 2 out of 3 people are gay! FINE PRINT: Based on a poll answered by 3 people.

HEADLINE: 90% of Americans are disgruntled with the war in Iraq FINE PRINT: Poll taken by the Democrats in a session of congress, Republicans were not invited.

Have you ever thought that reporters report what they report because its there job and hello whats this? Liberals OWN the media? You don't say, my, my!
OK everyone is entitled to there point of view but when you SHOVE narrowed minded crap into dumb imbeciles sitting on there couches drinking beer, well this isn't going anywhere because then I guess its partly there fault too, idiots need to get up and research the other side of the story, because the liberal media sure as $%*% aren't going to tell you.
I'm not done, the biggest thing that burns me up, and I don't swear, really I don't but this makes me come so grrrrr close,

OK breath Kristal, Breath...........

Its very sad that soldiers are dying, horrible, I can't imagine what I would do if someone close to me died in the war, I do have brothers in the military though and am very proud of them. To get to my point,
Every Bleeping night the reporter closes with a sob story of how many American soldiers died that day and in the last so many years in Iraq, how the war in Iraq is killing our soldiers, OK here's the part were everyone seems to think I get insensitive.
They (the Soldiers) signed up! They are "giving" there lives for something "they" believe in, the enlistment numbers have soared after 9/11 and its still going strong, don't you think, that the soldiers would like to hear something like this when they turn on the nightly news?
" Today 4 American Soldiers died fighting for there family and friends, for there country."
They could add every now and then the many Thousands that we have killed ( that's insensitive I know, but it needs to be pointed out that we aren't the only one with casualties, sometimes toes need to be stepped on) the work, successful work, they are doing, if you really support the troops, how about some happy stuff, some encouragement.
In World War 2 some Two Hundred Thousand Americans died, in a little under 4 years, more would have if we hadn't bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Horrible, the loss and death suffered by the Japanese in those bombings, but and to put it bluntly the fire bombs in Tokyo killed more people then both bombings combined, MILLIONS of Japanese were saved when the US Generals made the decision to use nuclear bombs, let alone millions of US soldiers, Sometimes brute force is needed, to save the most lives on both sides, to bring an end to a war, to take a stand as a country when its needed. This is merely a point I am trying to make, very few have died if you do comparisons, now I am not saying you should nuke Iraq, actually we are not in a war with Iraq anymore, we are in a war with terrorists, we are defending a country that is trying to bring freedoms that they do not as yet have, now maybe Iran, let the Israeli's have Iran I really wish our government would let the Israeli's loose, that would do a lot to ending the war and bringing troops home.
War is horrible, I do not speak from experience, but I do no people die, people die, it doesn't matter whose side you are on, even innocent people, bystanders will die, we have fought for out freedom, for justice even when it wasn't for ourselves, many times. War is horrible and in a war, People die.
Can we please be more sensitive? Can we be a little more upbeat, for our soldiers at least? You can't support the troops and not support the war, because then what are they dying for?

Baby Bouncers

Elenore is now three months old, and she thinks being laid down on the floor is torture in its purest form. So we trekked off to the local store to check out bouncers and other props for babies who cannot sit up by them-selves but demand to be sat up anyway. Elenore was with me sitting up in her car seat so she sucked on her pacifier while I browsed the some what limited selections, Every now and then I would hold some thing up and say how about this one? She would stop sucking to ponder the question, then after a few seconds resume sucking and close her eyes as if to say "we are tired, do not disturb us with these trivial nothings" OK then, So I stood in front of "Perfectly Pink with 6 Dangly toys and a 500 Hundred Song Data-base that Slides Left, Right, North and South and Canters" I guess that would cover everything, She will at least be able to sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star by Nirvana while riding a horse and traveling in the right direction when she's six, can you really pass up a deal like that? On the other hand (or actually to the left ) was a Rain forest Bouncer that was environmentally friendly, the box proclaimed it was once a bunch of dirty diapers and car tires and it will in 6 months disintegrate into earth friendly matter, as an added bonus it was pre-programmed to play a 24 hour live feed of NPR. Now come on I can't let my daughter grow up to not care about the earth right? It was a muted point anyway, we left without purchasing a thing, I heard there was another store with more then two options somewhere to the north and of course after those last two selections that's all I need, right?

I love to shop, I could spend all day looking at the ridiculous amount of STUFF they sell, that have ridiculous functions, really Elenore is happiest being held and cuddled, she loves to talk and be talked too, she does hate to lay on the floor but I would bet anything she has got the ceilings memorized by now, although I did try to convince her there was a new cobweb in the corner this morning, she wasn't buying it, she swore it was there last week, but I digress, I will continue to hold her until they come out with a bouncer that doesn't have more technology then my toothbrush. After all it only lasts so long.

Its been a while, sadly my Internet is down.

I am doing laundry. I hate doing laundry (somewhere a nudist is laughing his bare arse off at me) I cut down, I do really, I bag up clothes for the thrift store, then proceed to find twice as many articles of clothing on sale, on the other hand I am convinced clothes breed ! Do you know how many times I have been sorting tee-shirts and find a couple I swear I have never seen before, I can almost hear the other tee-shirts saying to the mama tee-shirt, "ooh does he have your pocket or what!"
On the other hand socks are sterile, they are a dying breed, I believe they just put them on the extinction list, and yet they widow and widowers of these socks, never die, they lie around un-mated for eternity, un-mated and unused, a thorn in the clothing society.
Go ahead nudists of world, Laugh!

I was just informed that my first name has been officially changed, I always thought there were forms to fill out and such, but apparently not, my first name used to be Kristal. Kristal is now my middle name, my first name is Mama. Now I sort of always new this, but yesterday my children asked me what my name was I told them "Kristal Chantelle" my first and middle names, Felicity had the kindness to tell me " No your first name is Mama and your middle name is Kristal" I replied "what about Chantelle?" She (the 30 year old 3 year old) came back with "You can't have that one anymore".

The dryer just dinged, I have to go, I don't want to, but I think the dryer hates his job and I can sympathize.

Today, My Rambling Thoughts

Trees in the Snow
(c) K.A.

I really thru that last post up! There are mistakes all over the place and it doesn't make sense half of the time.

Why do children love bodily functions? Age old question I know. Everett, not feeling well, began to throw up the other night, I hollered out to Joff to bring me a towel because Everett was throwing up (repeat ) All of a sudden down the hall I could hear "where? where? I want to see, what color is it, did it get all over you!" two little girls ( they wish to remain unnamed, wouldn't you?) stood in front of the bed, of course as soon as they came in they said "ewwww" and "gross" and "that's yucky" well ya know what I could have told them that!

Have you ever been to a cafeteria full of children were the child who can "rip" the loudest is king for the day? Or maybe in the park, have you been to the park when a gang of children go running past, clothes flying off faster then light, frantic parents chasing after? Child Streak Day.

What about the kid who brought his throw up to show in tell in a bag? That one went down in the history of 1st Grade, I do wonder how he got it past his mom though.............

Enough of that, I am about to gag. Wouldn't the kids love that?

Today was cold, I thought you should know in case you missed the weather report. As we speak the wind is howling to come in and I am stuffing the cracks in the floorboards and drinking tea to stay warm. Joff and the kids are asleep, I have the TV on for background noise, some criminal show, To quote

"Cops then new they were on the right trail"

"Someone had indeed use his car in 1981"

Very predictable and boring, but it is better then hearing the dog snuffle and snore, or worse lick himself.

The Death of Mr. Smith

I wish I could write a book, If I could I would write a mystery, I have it all planned out.
It would be about this woman Mrs. Tam say, anyway it would focus around her life and her reading this mystery book, the mystery would be read out along with her life, it would end and this is my fravorite part with her reading the last chapter of the mystery book (the book to be called the "The death of Mr. Smith) She and the readers of my book are just about to find out who did it. Here is the last paragraph of the book I will never write.

Mrs. Tam settled into her chair, It was late and she had better go to bed, but she really wanted to know who killed Mr. smith, she was betting on either Vera the limo driver or Tony the Cafe owner, really it had to be one of the two didn't it? She sat her iced tea onto the table next to her, put a pillow behind her, when all of a sudden she felt a pressure in her chest, confused she looked up to see her best friend looking at her with a gun shaking in her hands, she opened her mouth, but couldn't speak, she looked down at her book and realized as her blood and life drained away, she would never know who killed Mr. smith.

OK I think its a good idea, because you see you the reader would never know who killed Mr. Smith either!
LOL anyway.

My Blog, Music, Books and TV

OK a friend called up the other day and said "you know most blogs I have read are about something, what is yours about?"
Well to put it simply
Me:)
I have thought about this, what after all do I know, a little bit of this and a little bit of that, but of myself I like to think I know lots, so this about is about me and the little bits I know of.
For example:
I love Berlin, Heart and IL Divo, I also, love that chanting monk stuff, classical violin and country, there are some worthy pieces of rap and of course rock in almost every form, Joff thinks my my broadminded love of music is a little too broadminded, perhaps, but that is how I am with most subjects. I have read and love just about every subject I can get my hands on, fiction and non-fiction, there are some I have read, shrugged my shoulders and moved on. Romance novels are the most predictable genre out there, I have a romance novel I have read once and once only, I keep it because it was a little bit different then the rest, it went through the usual junk, does he love me, does she love, dancing around kind of silliness, but the last two pages, were worth it, in two pages the author had the Hero rescue the Damsel and then the Damsel had her turn and rescued the Hero and then the Hero not to be out done rescued the Damsel and then the Horse rescued them both in a grand final, it was all over the place, It was perhaps the most interesting two pages I have ever read, it was not a comical romance, the author was trying to be serious ( I think) and perhaps that made it even funnier.
If I just had to narrow it down then I would say mysteries, which also makes me a CSI fan, and now that we are talking CSI I really have to ask, how realistic is CSI? Not very in my opinion
The CSI agents walks into the house picks up a hair that magically belongs to either the killer or someone related, are you trying to tell me that the murder victim never thru a party? Had a bunch of relatives or friends in from out of town? Or what about the park victims, so you found a cloth with blood in it in the park? It might have been anybodies, people bleed and don't always die from it you know, one of my personal favorites is the broken fingernail.................................... I could of course go on but I have to go burb a baby and give a discourse on Clifford the Dog.

Global Warming

I don't believe in Global Warming, I correct myself, I believe in Global Warming but only as a natural occurrence that the world goes through every so many thousands of years, this nonsense that SUV's are behind the fact that we aren't having much of a winter this year, I just don't buy it, look for yourself, a few years ago, it was freezing the world was getting colder, they even came out with a propaganda movie about how the world would eventually freeze over "Day after tomorrow" I believe, I like that movie, but it was total propaganda, to get to my point, now the world is warming up, well at least in some places and all the ice caps are melting, so is global warming going to heat up the earth to a lovely boiling point, or plunge us into an ice age, even the experts can't decide. The fact is the world has been through this before.
Example:
When Leif Erickson sailed to America around 800 B.C the climate was dramatically warmer then it is now, Newfoundland was nearly subtropical in its weather pattern, 800 years later when the English settled North America, New England and the maritime area was colder then Europe of that same day, colder even then it is now. The process it is going through is a natural process, you can see now through historical records that 1200 years ago the area in which I live had a mild climate and then it went through a dramatic shift to a more frigid climate and now we are back on the warming cycle and though we are not as warm as it was 1200 years ago, give it a couple hundred years........
After all fossils found in the Gulf of Maine from many different eras demonstrate that this warming, cooling cycle is a permanent part of the natural history of the planet.
So I if you if you want to drive your SUV go ahead, feel no guilt after all Lief Erickson wasn't sailing a petroleum powered boat.
I wonder what the Liberals blamed global warming on then?

Did you know.......

I have lived in Maine for a little over four years and never ever have I seen a moose! OK I sort of saw a moose once, but a little background first.
Joff and I always joke about how "you see a moose and you have good luck" we figure it must be this way because my luck is rotten and I haven't seen one, if I could only catch sight of a moose then I would have good luck right? Well back to seeing a moose once, sort of....
I saw a moose in fall 06, it was dead, tongue hanging out in the back of a pickup truck.
I am really worried about my luck now. My first sighting of a moose is a dead one? Can that do anything for my luck? Or is an omen of even worse luck to follow?
Well shortly after, Joff lost his job, car broke down and everything has been downhill since.
I am mounting a moose sight seeing trip, I figure if I can just catch sight of a live one.......
anyone want to come?

Of course a lot of people see moose. I figure there only five ways I will probably ever see one;

1. Dead in the back of a pick-up truck
2. Run into one
3.Moose head on someones wall
4. National Geographic channel (would that count?)
5. I could always go into the wilds of Maine and track one down, but of course my luck would call for it to charge me or something equally scary.

I have seen Black bears, they are so very cute and cuddly looking (from inside the car anyway).
I have spooked a few raccoons, terrified a porcupine and had staring contests with way to many coyotes (lost them all)

To crawl off on a little bit different track I would like to say I have a soft spot for lobsters, I am most determined to rescue one of those poor things out of the supermarket, I am going to build a special tank for it and bring it home, I have a name already picked out, Leroy. Leroy the lobster. I shudder to think of those poor things thrust into a pot of boiling water. I am not a vegetarian, but still really somethings are too much, a cow dies quietly enough, not too much trauma in the process, you sneak up behind him bonk him in just the right spot (this really should only be done by the pros or the cow will suffer) and he is off to happy grazing grounds, but a lobster grips the side side of the steaming pot screaming in lobstereeze about children and his wife and the seaweed growing outside his house, really, how much more cruel can it get.
I like animals.
I am not really fond of birds, of any kind, except the caged ones, maybe, I can't stand a poor little bird stuffed into a cage that's not big enough, really they need room to flitter about, so if you have a bird with a nice roomy cage, that's great, fine by me. But birds smell, I think that's my biggest problem with them, also they may look stupid but they aren't, I have geese and ducks, they practice military maneuvers at night, I have seen them.
For example;
We have a German Shepard, he is on a running leash, one of the ducks will distract him (the idiot dog falls for it) and the rest dive for his dog food bowl, they will take turns. We feed the ducks, I think they might just be trying to humiliate the dog on purpose.
From evasive moose to campaigning ducks......Now you know.

A couple of Jehovahs's Witness's just left my house.
Before I go any further let me state I like Jehovahs Wittness's (in future to be called JW) I have JW friends, I have no problem with any religion out there, well except for maybe muslims, and of course they want me dead so I might be justified in being slightly nervous about them, although the few I have met were harmless enough, oh lol that came out funny......... back to the JW's
They just left my house, I have to say it was brave of them to come say hi, I live on a dead end road, off a back road thats off a back road with a 350 ft dr. thats currently covered in ice, not to mention my small security guard of ducks and three special ops geese, I have a couple of cats that have been known to puncture tires and goats that eat fenders, oh and a German Shepard, like I told them, he's friendly, lol.
God Bless them.
LOL
Today is Katie's Birthday
Joff and I were up late last night trying to make sure everything was done, Joff didn't go to bed till 3:30!
Katie took some cupcakes to school (storebought) and Joff made each of the kids in her class a small toy, unicorns for the girls, dragons for the boys.
It is quiet right now everyone is gone but me and Els. She is waking up, probably getting hungry.
Everyone is coming over at 5:00 for the party. She got for her morning present, a new outfit, purple pants and a purple striped shirt. She has been so excited.
While I'm here;
This morning Joff had the dragons out drying on the table, Everett was sure one of them was for him, he was quite sad when we put them in a bag, he stared at it from across the table, pointing to it and not quite crying "mine?' "mine?" Joff said he will make him one when he gets back.
Sharyn H. was talking on the phone yesterday with Katie while I was out shopping, She asked Katie if she ( Katie ) had been in my room looking for presents, Katie said
"No! Well, ok yes, but there wasn't any in there"
LOL, gotta love it.

This morning, Joff and I were sitting on the couch and talking when Alice woke up, she came down and crawled on Joff's lap, we said good morning to her, and then I askd her if she would like to go with daddy on a drive today or stay home with me, she replied
"I am going to hug daddy and kiss daddy and stay right here" (on his lap)
Another night, she came running out of her room after she was supposed to be asleep, I said "Alice go back to bed right now!" She fell on the floor crying " I just wanted a hug and kiss"
Alice is so very sweet, oh and Alice got a hug and kiss.

Have you ever done it? You are busy talking on the phone or cooking dinner, a child comes up to you, fravorite book in hand and says "Book" holding it up, an eager, hopeful look on his face, in a pre-occupied way, you brush him aside and say "not now, go away and play", you miss, I am sure you do, that crestfallen look on his face.
Have you ever rejected a child, in a time when you may not know it but they need you the most?
My children are very easy to please, they play quietly on there own and together, they watch TV and they watch me play on the computer, but there are times when they just need me, a little one on one time, to let them know they are important, special, needed and loved.
Really they are here for only so long, and I know its been said a million times over, but there it is, its true, they are only here for so long.
Why do we have to be so pre-occupied? Making sure the house is always clean, is the person we are talking on the phone too so vastly important? after all they have already grown up ( I presume) and they will be there later, won't they? Your children won't. That "just a minute" comes and goes and then its too late, you waited too many minutes, they are gone, you ring up your grown child on there telephone, and they are there but busy in there own lives, you forgot to teach them to stop and now its too late.
One of my all time fravorite poems:
Patty-Poem
She never puts her toys away;
Just leaves them scattered where they lay-
I try to scold her, and I say
"You make me mad!"
But when to bed she has to chase,
The toys she left about the place
Remind me of her shining face,
And make me glad.
When she grows up and gathers poise
I'll miss her harum-scarum noise,
And look in vain for her scattered toys-
And I'll be sad
Nick Kenny
I am feeding Els right now, but when I am done I think I will go read a book to my children.

Grrrrr, We got a letter from the school today saying they are switching from half-day kintergarten to full day:( Not at all happy. Katie is only five (ok she will be six on Friday) but still she doesn't need to be in school all day!
They are redoing the entire school system here, combining all the schools.
Mass education:0
Don't they know children learn better when there are only a few students per teacher? Right now Katie is in the morning class, four students, afternoon class has five students, on the 22nd of this month they will combine the two. To think on the brightside, nine is better then the forty or more they will have when they combine the schools in a couple of years, and thats just the kindergarten class! Darn just went back over to the bleak and miserable side.
Again trying to think happy they will be firing the 200 useless superintendants hanging around here.
Sliding back over.......
Darn
They will be trucking kids from miles around just to go to school, those poor kids think they spend half there life on a bus now!
Centralized Schooling.
Just Ducky.
